The top rail with carved foliage above a pierced vase-shaped splat, with upholstered drop in seats, on acanthus carved cabriole legs terminating in paw feet with fetlock and flat ‘H’ shaped serpentine stretchers. Irish, c.1750

A pair of chairs from this set were formerly in the collection of Desmond Fitzgerald The Knight of Glin, Glin Castle, County Limerick and subsequently sold in Christies, London, Glin Castle A Knight in Ireland Thursday 7th of May 2009, lot number 18 and another single chair from this set is in a private collection in Dublin.
